Kevin Clifton, 38, left Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, while Janette Manrara, 37, recently announced she had stepped down from her professional duties to host Strictly: It Takes Two later this year. Catching up with Kevin, Janette and Aljaz Skorjanec, 31, discussed a moment the former was known for behind-the-scenes.
Kevin himself has admitted he used to have a “freak out week” on the show, where he released his frustrations.
Discussing this, Janette told listeners: “There was always one point in the series where Kevin would go, ‘This is wrong. This is not happening. This is not OK!’
“He’d go backstage and kick off and so every pro and everybody in production knew he was upset.”
Agreeing, the dancer laughed as he admitted there was always a point in the series which was “too overwhelming” for him.
“It all just came out in this frustration,” he added, putting his actions down to nerves and insecurity.
The dancer went on to recall a particular moment where he lost it and threw a surfboard across the room, during rehearsals with Frankie Bridge.
“We couldn’t get off the surfboards,” he said.
“It was wobbling and when props don’t go your way, it gets frustrating.
“In the end I picked up the surfboard and launched it across the room.”
Kevin laughed as he recalled how he heard Aljaz telling the team that he was kicking off and encouraged them to watch.
The dancer’s passion certainly paid off as he managed to get to five finals during his seven years on the show.
Back in 2018, he finally lifted the Glitterball trophy with Stacey Dooley.

Weeks later, it was revealed the pair were dating and still remain together.
The Grimsby-born dancer left the show after dancing with Anneka Rice in 2019.
In a statement at the time, he said he was leaving to focus on other opportunities.
In the same chat with Janette and Aljaz on their Twist and Shout podcast, the dancer went on to recall a time he complained about former pro Pasha Kovalev.
He explained that there had been a rule on the show, where couples were allowed to practise on the night up until two dances before they were due on stage.
Kevin said he noticed Pasha kept breaking the rule backstage and complained to a team member.
The dancer laughed as he claimed the professional dancer “never worried about those rules” and was “always practising”.
He added: “I used to go down for my practise and I’d complain to Jack Gledhill going, ‘Why’s Pasha always there?!
“Why have they got such blatant disregard for the rules?
“Pasha would’ve really struggled that year [in 2020, when coronavirus restrictions were in place].”
