Ruth Langsford: This Morning star suffers painful fall but insists she ‘wasn’t drunk’

Ruth Langsford, 59, enjoyed the day at Epsom Races yesterday with her husband Eamonn Holmes, 59.

The This Morning favourite looked lovely in a blue crochet frock for the day out with her spouse.

But it soon ended in disaster for Ruth as she revealed she fell over on her way out of the site in Surrey.

The star later uploaded a snap to her Instagram account of her knees all red and cut after the tumble.

Before you ask… I WASN’T drunk!!

Ruth insisted to her 667,000 followers she wasn’t “drunk” as she had the “embarrassing” moment.

She captioned the picture of her knees: “So….wonderful day at the Derby @epsomdownsracecourse until I fell over on my way out! Ouch!

“Before you ask… I WASN’T drunk!! #fallingover #embarrassing.”

Ruth had Eamonn on hand to make her feel better as he commented on her post: “Poor you….I’ll kiss them better darling.”

Rochelle Humes left a message to give Ruth some sympathy and said: “Oh no!!!! You’re still fabulous.”

While Martine McCutcheon added: “Oh Ruth!! You are a tonic xxxx.”

Earlier in the day, Ruth shared a stunning snap of herself posing with her husband before heading out.

The Loose Women panelist looked fabulous all dressed up in her races attire, complete with a white fascinator.

Eamonn also looked dapper in a suave suite, teamed with a yellow tie to compliment Ruth’s blue number.

She wrote for the caption: “Wonderful day out at the Derby @epsomdownsracecourse…

“Think @eamonnholmes & I scrub up alright don’t we?!! Dress @michaelkors Shoes @jimmychoo Bag @marksandspencer #thederby #epsom #racing #horses #sunshine.”

Meanwhile, Charlotte Hawkins was also at the Epsom Derby Day and wowed in a lemon off-the-shoulder ensemble.

The Good Morning Britain newsreader showed off her svelte figure in the pretty dress which fell in to pleats.

She kept to her colour theme with a yellow fascinator which featured an exaggerated design.

Charlotte revealed she caught up with her ITV pals, Ruth and Eamonn at the races.

She wrote beside an Instagram picture with them: “Great to catch up with @eamonnholmes (good colour co-ordination!) & the gorgeous @ruthlangsford! It’s been a fabulous day with my @itvracing fashion hubby @markheyesstylist who definitely rocks the best kilts! @itv @epsomdownsracecourse #epsom #itv #itvracing #kilts #meninkilts.”
