Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu in May 1967, but wasn’t very fond of wearing his wedding ring. That’s according to Memphis Mafia member Jo Smith, the wife of Billy Smith who is The King’s cousin. In fact, Elvis famously lost his wedding ring and during the search found himself pretending to be a sheep.

The incident took place when Elvis Presley and his Memphis Mafia were spending some time at his Circle G Ranch in Mississippi.

The King and his inner circle were enjoying some horse racing near the fenced area which was pretty bumpy.

So Elvis tied his wedding ring onto a handkerchief around his neck, which came loose near the lake.

Now the bandana was recovered but the ring wasn’t, despite searching on their hands and knees.

In the Memphis Mafia Kid video below, Billy and Jo remembered how some fans were watching Elvis and his gang crawling around on the ground looking for the ring.

Elvis said to Billy: “Don’t we look like a bunch of idiots out here on our hands and knees looking for something?”

All of a sudden The King started bleating like a sheep which the fans heard.

Elvis said: “Yes it’s me! Baaaaa! Looking for a ring! Baaaaa!”

Eventually, Elvis got tired and said that was enough, committing to getting himself another ring which Priscilla would buy for him.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros are producing an Elvis movie biopic that is now in post-production.

Set for release on June 3, 2022, the upcoming film is written and directed by Moulin Rouge’s Baz Luhrmann.

While Austin Butler plays The King opposite Tom Hanks as the star’s manager Colonel Tom Parker.

The Elvis movie was shot in Queensland, Australia where Graceland was recreated in a studio. Meanwhile, the real Graceland has been assisting the move to ensure accuracy.

During a virtual tour of the Memphis mansion, Express.co.uk was told: “Yes, we’ve worked really closely with Baz and his team for research. We have sent photos, measurements, materials, colouring patterns; everything for clothing. Also, room designs [and] images sizing for different rooms.

“So we’ve been working really closely with their team for accuracy of everything from sets to taking the actors through tour here.

“So [here’s] hoping that the movie’s going to be great; [we’re] very positive that the movie’s going to be great. [We’re] excited for what’s going to be hopefully a very good biopic coming out of Australia.”
