Kirstie Allsopp has expressed her frustration towards the Government after she had a bad experience at border control while passing through Heathrow airport.
The Love It or List It host took to Twitter to vent that she is "ashamed" of England after she witnessed her stepson's French girlfriend being questioned by airport staff.
Kirstie, 49, claimed she received "attitude" from certain employees at Heathrow and said it was a "c*** way to welcome people" back into the country. She also went on to add that the Government was to blame for the atrocities that took place.
Voicing her annoyance on social media, the star penned: "I am ashamed of this country. This time I saw the questioning of my stepson’s French girlfriend."
"Why is there any need for that attitude?! We used to have a reputation for good manners. Why is our Government trying to kill tourism?!!!"
She then followed up with another message which read: "Aggressive questioning of visitors, rude abrupt staff and less than 50% of E gates working at @HeathrowAirport Terminal 2.
"I know this is not the fault of the airport, it is the fault of our Government and it is a c*** way to welcome people."
"What’s wrong with 'Good Afternoon, may I ask you some questions?'
But the Channel 4 presenter didn't stop there. She then went on to add that she was speaking her truth in order to to campaign and not complain.
She continued: "If we don’t protect our country by calling out rudeness, bad service and scams like the Day 2 tests then who will?"
"I’m not complaining I’m campaigning #SaveUKTourism @VisitBritain @visitlondon."
However Kirstie's frank Twitter rage was met with mixed responses from her followers with some questioning what her issue was.
Responding to her rant on Twitter, one fan penned: "Not sure what your issue is. I imagine the staff encounter folks with your attitude daily .It is ensuring our borders are secure and folks have the correct paperwork not a Sunday afternoon tea party. Assertive questioning is not aggressive questioning."
While another asked: "Ashamed of this Country? Don't hold the Country responsible for the behaviour of a few border staff."
However some appeared to be on Kirstie's side. One fan wrote: "Never ceases to amaze me how surly immigration/ customs staff can be at British points of entry. It has been ever thus though – the French are positively polite and helpful in comparison"
While another chimed: "I agree they are way too aggressive. We returned from holiday with our grand daughter and we’re virtually accused of kidnapping her despite having parental permission for her to be with us – unbelievable."
Kirstie's outburst certainly didn't go unnoticed and was picked up by Heathrow's official Twitter page.
The airport's Twitter account wrote: "Hi Kirstie, thank you for your message and we are sorry to hear about your experience arriving at Heathrow yesterday. Please could you send a DM with some more information so we can investigate with our colleagues at Border Force."
