Vine star Adam Perkins has died aged just 24.
His twin brother Patrick – referred to as Packie – confirmed the news on Instagram.
Posting a picture of the pair together, Patrick wrote: "my brother, Adam Perkins, passed away this previous Sunday, 4-11-21.
"i can’t even really put into words what this loss means for me.
"i’m often asked the question, 'what’s it like to be a twin?' and my response is usually, 'what’s it like to NOT be a twin?'
"being a twin is a very central part of my identity. it’s all i’ve known. and i’m struggling to find the words to explain what it will be like for me to live in this world without him. my best friend."
Patrick added that he would be releasing Adam's album Latch Relay on vinyl in his late brother's honour.
He said the record label Adam had signed with, Plas Teg Records, would "seek to fulfil his musical destiny that was so tragically cut short."
Patrick ended the statement with: "i love you, my best friend Adam. 1997-forever".
Adam was best known for his iconic 'Welcome to Chili's' Vine, posted on the now-defunct platform back in 2015.
In the video, he walked into a bathroom wearing nothing but a pair of boxers and said: "Hi, welcome to Chili's."
Adam captioned his famous clip: "I'm really proud of this one."
Many of his followers even went as far as to reenact the iconic clip, which racked up more than 26.6million loops on Vine.
He was also responsible for the viral 'Adam' Vine, in which his brother is busy blowing smoke from a vape before Adam puffs it away, causing Patrick to turn around and say: "Adam" in a deadpan voice.
Adam had around 290,000 followers on Vine when the platform closed down.
In 2015, Adam attended the VidCon convention – an event which draws together YouTube stars and vloggers – in California.
But aside from being a Vine comedian, Adam was an accomplished musician and composer.
He later started a TikTok channel where he would regularly have fans in stitches with his hilarious clips.
In another post added to Patrick's Instagram page of Adam's album cover for Latch Relay, writing: "in 2018, Adam released 'Latch Relay'. in typical Adam fashion, he did no advertising or marketing or promotion.
"it was always about the music for him. nothing else mattered.
"i ask that you listen to this album if you have not listened already. it is a masterpiece from a genius far beyond his time."
Patrick continued: "i ask that you honor [sic] his legacy by listening to at least one song. my favorite [sic] is 'Redwood Reverie'. please let me know yours."
Adam's fans have been taking to social media to share their condolences and grief, with one writing: "Rest in peace to the man who brought us this absolute legendary vine. Your legacy will forever live on in our hearts."
Someone else penned: "Rest in peace to a legend. Adam Perkins, forever welcoming us to Chili's. You will be deeply missed."
Another fan paid tribute with: "rip adam perkins, like, forreal, you were one of my comfort people, i miss ya already friend, hope you're welcoming people to chilis!!"
And a fourth typed: "welcome to chili's 🙁 r.i.p. adam perkins. fly high, legend."
