The nation’s biggest soaps Coronation Street and EastEnders are set to go head-to-head tonight (December 7) in a rare clash.
Coronation Street kicks off a week of special hour-long episodes to celebrate its 60th anniversary, which will see Yasmeen Nazir’s (Shelley King) trial culminate.
As per usual, the ITV soap begins at 7:30pm, but given that it’s an hour instead of two half-hour offerings, it will therefore clash with BBC’s EastEnders, which commences at 8pm.
It’ll be a tough choice for soap fans, as both serial dramas are airing huge episodes this evening.
Yes, it’s not just Corrie that’s delivering the drama, as EastEnders will air a special episode tonight, revealing the aftermath of Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) deadly attack.
Ian lies motionless on the floor of The Vic, and a figure sneaks by — desperate to ensure that nobody sees them leaving the pub.
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) returns home after picking up baby Albie, and she’s horrified to find her oldest friend lying on the floor.
But who attacked Ian?
We’ll have to wait and see.
Coronation Street airs at 7:30pm on ITV, while EastEnders airs at 8pm on BBC One.
