Mick (played by Danny Dyer) has become a beloved EastEnders character since he arrived in Walford in 2013. However, the soap stalwart will be leaving the BBC staple soon, as announced by Danny last week. In upcoming episodes of the programme, Mick could be brutally attacked by violent tough man Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ). Could the Queen Vic landlord die of his injuries?
Official BBC spoilers confirm Stuart will begin to suspect that wife Rainie Highway (Tanya Franks) and Mick are having an affair.
As he continues to keep his cancer diagnosis a secret, Rainie becomes concerned and he suggests Stuart see a doctor as she’s worried.
Meanwhile, in the market, Mick gives Rainie some flowers as a way of thanking her for some advice she gave him about Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
Rainie lies to Stuart when she asks where the flowers came from, and his suspicions begin to grow.
He starts following Rainie, when Sonia Jackson (Natalie Cassidy), who is the only person who knows about his diagnosis, sees him and encourages him to go to a cancer support group.
However, she bumps into him again later and he’s worse for wear.
Stuart tries to apologise to Sonia, but she tells him that she will tell the truth if someone asks about his behaviour.
In the market, Rainie confides in Mick about her concerns over Stuart.
Mick offers to help her look for Vi Highway (Gwen Taylor) as she assumes he is missing her.
Stuart spots them during their conversation though, and takes it as confirmation they are having an affair.
To make matters worse, Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) realises Mick is helping Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) with the social worker.
In a crowded Vic, Jay berates him in front of everyone that he is having an affair and highlights Janine’s past.
Stuart overhears and assumes he is talking about Rainie.
Rainie begins to comfort Mick about Linda after she finds out they have broken up.
She also ends up comforting him when he suffers a panic attack in front of her, which is why the two have formed a close bond.
Rainie also ended up opening up to him about the pain of losing baby Abi.
In Stuart’s angry state though, he isn’t likely to be understanding or speak to his wife to find out what’s been going on.
When he first came to Walford, many were suspicious of Stuart due to his violent behaviour and angry outbursts.
Since settling into Albert Square though, he has shown his nicer side and has worked through his problems.
However, with his concerns over his cancer increasing, and fears his wife cheating on him, he may lose control.
Could he end up seriously hurting Mick? It’s possible he might race over to the bar and attack him before anyone can stop him.
It’s been confirmed that EastEnders will soon have to find a new landlord because Danny’s departure from the soap is on the horizon.
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to Express.co.uk: “Danny will be leaving EastEnders.
“Danny has made Mick Carter an iconic character which we shall always be grateful for.”
They added his exit would be “explosive” so could he be murdered?
Troubled Stuart isn’t in the best headspace since he found out about his cancer.
Not thinking clearly or acting rationally, he would definitely be capable of killing Mick if he angrily attacks him.
Could Mick meet a horrifying end on the BBC soap?
EastEnders continues on Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
