Emmerdale fans go wild as Tracy Beaker star Connor Byrne returns to the ITV soap

Emmerdale fans went wild on Wednesday's episode as Tracy Beaker star Connor Byrne returned to the ITV soap.

During the latest instalment, actor Connor made another appearance as he continues to portray the role of Priya Sharma's doctor while she recovers from the maize maze fire in October.

Soap watchers were quick to share their delight that Connor, who played Mike Milligan on CBBC's The Story Of Tracy Beaker, was back on the ITV soap.

Connor played Mike on The Story Of Tracy Beaker from 2002 until 2006, he reprised the role for Tracy Beaker Returns from 2010 to 2012 and again for spin-off series The Dumping Ground from 2014 until 2019.

The hit CBBC series was based on Jacqueline Wilson's book and followed Tracy, played by Dani Harmer, who lived in a foster home with other children, which she called the "Dumping Ground".

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Every time Priyas doctor comes on the TV, I keep shouting.. MIKE FROM TRACEY BEAKER! #Emmerdale #itv," followed with crying laughing emojis.

While a different account put: "ITS MIKE FROM TRACY BEAKER #Emmerdale."

However, despite currently playing the role of Priya's doctor, Connor has appeared on Emmerdale before in 2019 as Geoff.

Only recently, the ITV soap has revisited Priya's eating disorder storyline as she continues to struggle with her injuries as a result of the fire.

During Wednesday's episode, Priya's doctor asked why her healing had slowed down as he encouraged her to keep up her calorie intake.

Priya then lied and pretended she had been suffering with a tummy bug, so she was unable to eat as much recently, but was soon left horrified to discover that this was causing her healing to slow down.
