In SVU’s monumental season 22 episode Return of the Prodigal Son on NBC, Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) finally reunited and fans have been wondering ever since if the beloved pair will get together. However, one fan has spotted a clue regarding Olivia’s son Noah (Ryan Buggle) that could hint at a possible romance between the crime fighting duo.
In season 15 of the NBC hit crime drama, Benson becomes the court-appointed guardian of abandoned baby Noah Porter.
Noah’s biological father, Johnny D (Charles Halford), is a serial rapist and pimp and was caught by the detective and her squad.
It is later revealed that Noah’s mother, Ellie Porter (Emma Greenwell), was trafficked, raped, and murdered by Johnny, leaving Noah in need of care and serious medical attention.
However, one fan has spotted a clue about Noah and Ellie that suggests former partner Stabler was always going to end up with Benson.

Stabler actor Meloni hasn’t featured on Law and Order: SVU since his sudden departure from the show in 2011.
The character’s exit was abrupt and emotional and he left the team without telling his partner and closest friend Benson.
After the pair reunited in the ninth episode Return of the Prodigal Son, fans have been hoping to see them finally get together.
One fan took to Twitter to suggest a hidden meaning to Ellie Porter’s name: “I’ve been watching a lot of SVU today. Is is just a coincidence that Noah’s bio mom’s name is Ellie?
“It sounds a lot like Elliot. Maybe it’s just me that’s noticed,” they concluded.
Another passionate fan immediately responded: “Oh gosh! THIS! she did have her child from an El [shocked face emoji].
“There is definitely Mariska behind this and as usual I LOVE HER FOR THIS.” (sic)
Another fan joked: “Whenever @Mariska says Ellie I keep thinking she says Elliot and then I get excited then I get upset @nbcsvu #svu.” (sic)
However, the theory seemed increasingly likely that Ellie was named after Elliot in some way, to hint that Benson’s future would once again involve Stabler.
The clue also suggests that the cop was destined to meet Ellie and that Noah was always supposed to be in her life.
Someone else tweeted and remembered that when Benson met Ellie for the first time, the detective thought she heard a different name.
They said: “Almost came off the couch in excitement over Liv saying ‘Ellie’ and her hearing ‘Elliot.’ #SVU.”
After years of being alone and recovering from a series of heartbreaking relationships, Benson finally found happiness when she adopted Noah.
Stabler recently suffered a tragedy after his wife was murdered on spin-off series Organized Crime, so is he ready to be with Benson and take on another child?
In season 16, after Benson’s second partner Nick Amaro (Danny Pino) left the squad to move to California, she credited him with helping her grow as a person – something she was unable to do during her time with Stabler.
She said: “I grew more in my last four years with you than I did in the 12 years I was with him.
“You know that relationship, whatever it was, it didn’t allow for anything else.”
After a decade apart, Benson and Stabler have both grown as people so fans are hoping that a relationship will finally happen sometime soon.
Law and Order: SVU and Law and Order: Organized Crime are both available to watch on NBC in the US. Season 22 of SVU is currently airing in the UK on Sky Witness, and is available to watch on Now TV as well.
