Love Island viewers hit out at ‘horny devils’ task – branding it ‘disgusting’

Love Island fans tuned in to watch singletons in the second episode smooch for 30 seconds and make X-rated confessions while clad in red devil costumes for a new task.

The new horny devil challenge saw the girls take on the boys and tasked contestants with reading out a statement from a fork, before trying to work out which islander said it.

Confessions included: "This girl once got a sex toy stuck inside her," which prompted Jake to head over to kiss Liberty, but it was actually said by Chloe.

But fans were not impressed by the challenge with some branding it "disgusting".

Viewers rushed to Twitter to slam the challenge – describing it as as "boring" and '"creepy".

One wrote: "The disgusting challenges are back."

Another said: "I’m so sorry but the challenges on Love Island are so disgusting."

A third wrote: "I don’t think I can carry on watching Love Island. The 1950s gender roles vibes are just too weird.

"The challenges are creepy. Barely any characters. The lack of diversity – body, race, ability, sexuality, age, religion etc – is preposterous. I used to think I was missing out."

A fourth added: "Please tell me other people find the Love Island challenges proper cringe?!"

In Tuesday's episode, after Jake's kiss, he said in the Beach Hut: "She don't like the tongues I don't think."

Brad also read a jaw-dropping confession: "This girl loves to start her day by sending a tit pic."

Brad then decided to pick Faye to kiss, who admitted it was her.

Viewers' dim view of the task could explain why ratings were down by 1million on Tuesday night's second episode – compared to 3.3million for Monday's launch show.

In comparison, ratings were up by 33k viewers on the second episode of the last series.

Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub
