Paul O’Grady to quit Blind Date because he’s ‘uncomfortable’ in Cilla’s place

Paul O’Grady says he is unlikely to return to hosting Blind Date after feeling “uncomfortable”.

The telly favourite admits he felt odd mimicking late pal and original presenter Cilla Black on the romance show.

“I don’t think I am going to do any more,” he reveals. “I will have to have a word with Channel 5.”

The Scouser says he was honoured to be chosen to host the new version of Blind Date when it returned in 2017.

He was a lifelong friend of Cilla, who hosted the ITV show between 1985 and 2003, and died in 2015 aged 72.

Paul, who hosts For The Love of Dogs, confesses that he was “very reluctant” to sign up for Blind Date in the first place, knowing he had huge shoes to fill.
