In addition to eliminations, the Top 10 results show featured special performances from season 19 winner Carter Rubin and singer-songwriter Mae Muller. There was even a guest appearance from Blake’s wife and former The Voice coach Gwen Stefani. Here are The Voice Season 21’s Top 8!
[Spoiler alert: The following story contains spoilers for The Voice Season 21 Episode 22, “Live Top 10 Eliminations.”]
Results round 1
America saved Team Blake’s Paris Winningham and Team Ariana’s Jim and Sasha Allen.
Carter Rubin, season 19’s winner with Gwen Stefani, took to the stage to perform his new song, “Horoscope.” Blake, Kelly, and John loved seeing the teen back on The Voice stage, and the fans were happy to have a visit from Gwen.
Next, fans were treated to a blooper reel from season 21, featuring Ariana showing off her Celine Dion impression. Plus, Kelly used the word “navigate” again, and Blake got up close and personal with the camera equipment.
Results round 2
Team Kelly’s fan-favorite artists Girl Named Tom will move to the next round. Last week, the sibling trio made it to the No. 2 spot on the iTunes country charts, so their advancement came as no surprise.
After a commercial break, fans heard more results. Team Blake’s Wendy Moten advanced to the Top 8, as well as Team Legend’s Joshua Vacanti.
The Voice Season 21 Episode 22 continued with a performance from Mae Muller, who sang her hit “Better Days.”
Results round 3
The final two artists voted through were Team Blake’s Lana Scott and Team Kelly’s Hailey Mia. Lana’s advancement means that all artists on Team Blake are safe. Meanwhile, Team Legend’s Jershika Maple, Team Kelly’s Jeremy Rosado, and Team Ariana’s Holly Forbes performed for an Instant Save.
Wildcard Instant Save performances
Jeremy kicked things off with a heartfelt performance of “What Hurts the Most.” Blake said he admired Jeremy’s choice in country songs, while Kelly called the song “brilliant.” She added that it showcased his vocals and proved that he deserved to continue in the competition.
Team Ariana’s Holly took to the stage next with “Because of You,” delivering another emotional ballad. Once again, Blake complimented the song choice and said he was surprised to see Holly in the Bottom 3. Ariana agreed, adding that it “didn’t make sense.” The coach told Holly she delivered “powerful” vocals every week and encouraged fans to give her another chance.
Finally, Jershika performed “What Is Love,” showing off her power with a killer high note. John looked incredibly proud as he told the singer she’s been one of the best this season. He added that this was one of her best and most emotional performances to date.
